Review of Section 46.703

The section 46.703 of the FAR regulations refers to the application of warranty. First of all, as the description of the section depicts that it is not at all compulsory to exercise the provision of warranties in a government contract. However, if warranty is to be utilized the contract officer has to take into consideration five defined aspects, which include:

Use and nature of the supplies or services;

Costs, from which arises the warranty cost;

Enforcement and administration;

Practice of trade, and

Reduced requirements (www.acquisition.gov).
