CQI is an approach to quality management that relies on traditional methods of quality control with emphasis on the organization and systems: it is focused on "process" rather than the individual, it recognizes both internal and external "customers", it promotes the need for objective data to analyze and improve processes.

CQI is a administration beliefs that contends that most things can be improved. This philosophy does not subscribe to the theory that “if it is not broke, does not fix it." At the heart of CQI is serial experimentation (the scientific method) used to work every day to meet the needs of those we serve and improve the service we offer.

Basic concepts of CQI

* Continuous improvement is most effective when it becomes a natural part of how everyday activities are performed.

Basic Steps to Continuous Improvement

* Form a team with knowledge of the system to improve.

*Set a clear goal.

*realise the desires of persons served by the system.

*recognise and characterise measures of success.

Strategies * brainstorming potential changes to improve production.

* Plan, collect and use data to facilitate effective decision making.

*request the technical procedure to check and perfect changes.
