Introduction

The questions which are going to dicsuss in this essay includes the importance of Transfer of knowledge in workforce and factors that affects this transfer. Training plays a vital role for the development and better future of any organization. Most of the large brands understand the importance of training of employees; therefore, they invest their considerable amount of budget for training purposes of their employees. It help employees in polishing their skills either it is communication, interpersonal skills, or professional working skills (Tuckman, 1977, P 419-427). This essay deals with the training and development process for organizations. It discussed about the importance of training in organization is and why training is needed, and considered as an important factor for the growth and development of organization. Some hurdles that may affect the training process of organization also discussed in this essay.

Discussion

Training is a process which transfer the knowledge and information to labor, staff and employers for their improvement in expertise. It can be defines as a process that equip employees to translate that knowledge and information into a practical expertise with the objective to enhance and improve effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of organization (Ford, 1998, P 218-233). It also helps organization in managing their people or staff. In most of the organizations, special department is setup to develop environment of training.

The importance of training is being associated since the beginning of the trade or industry, and plays a vital role for the business. To understand the importance of training let us consider a very famous quote, “Give a person a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a person to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” This quote was presented in history, since 5th century and clearly defines the importance of training for any organization. Training or transfer of knowledge for the workforce is a very important factor that contributes a lot in continuous development and growth of organization (SAGGI, 1999, P 7-11).

Training, in the most simplistic definition, is an activity that changes people's behavior. Increased productivity is often said to be the most important reason for training. But it is only one of the benefits. Training does not only help for the enhancement of productivity but it also increase the level of motivation and inspiration for the worker, and guides them about the job descriptions and its importance.

There are many benefits received by the organization with this transfer of knowledge as it assures long term growth of organization. Some considerable benefits are received by organizations if they implement training approach to transfer the knowledge to workforce includes the increment in the level of morale and job satisfaction for employees within the organization. It boosts the motivation of workforce and increases the efficiency for the process, resulting in financial gain.
