Ecotourism is a responsible visit to a natural area which does not harm or affect the ecological environment and social norms. It preserves the natural beauty without affecting life style or norms and traditions of that area. In this paper, we will discuss the concept of ecotourism, its aims and objectives and how it is beneficial to humanity in comparison with mass tourism, which keeps planet earth worried about the natural and social beauty. To explain the concept “Bali”, the province of Indonesia and a very famous tourism spot will help us understand the negative aspects of mass tourism. In the second part of this research paper, we will discuss the concept of carrying capacity of a famous tourist site along with the reason that why that place is a source of attraction for visitors and the stage of tourist life cycle this place has reached or heading. For that, we chose “The Commonwealth of Bahamas”, a country consisting of numerous islands and are known and famous for its astounding natural beauty, beaches, flora and fauna. In the third portion of this research paper, we will discuss the importance of tourism for the developing country and the concept of opportunity cost along with its role for a tourism site. To justify our explanation, we will use “Kenya”, An African country, as a bright example of growing tourism industry that has proved the significance and importance of tourism for a booming economy.
