Virtual County Department of Police

The agency was initiated by the community of virtual county 55 years before. The agency was headed by chief together with an assistant to lead smaller number of police officials who were reliant on forming for the generation of their income. Over the past twenty years, the department initiative has enabled the primary policing agents in the county. This has been a remarkable achievement, since it has controlled the problems with state police in conducting its operations. Furthermore, the team members have grown from small figure number of officers to above 400 police officials and 170 civilian staff members to assist in the operations. This is a step of milestone toward maintaining law and order situation in the region. For the execution of the operations, this department is headed by two commands including administration command and operation command. These two commands are assisted for the execution and implementation of policies and rules of the agency by number of divisions under every wing (Virtual County Department of Police, n.d.).

In this paper we will discuss the strategic action plan to address the increasing violent crimes with drugs and gangs related connection that are the subjects of community, public and the political demands for actions. Furthermore, the paper will include the development of an interagency task force including the local police department and federal agencies.

Strategic Goal

This project is based on the development of eight unite tasks force as; the police Department are focused to address the increasing violent crimes including, robbery, homicide, sexual assaults. The project will indicate the gangs or drug related connections to the violence that has been the subject of demand of public, community or political bodies for actions.

Project

There are six units from the department of Virtual county Police represented in the task force. The basic function each unit in the police department are discussed in the following part of the paper. The paper will discuss why each unit has been chosen for the task force and their role in the strategy and how each unit will have interaction with other selected units.

Police Commissioner

The police commissioner will be the departmental head who will look after the day to day delivery and operations of police services (New York State Police Department, n.d). This unit is responsible to administer and enforce the rules and regulations of the department in special emergency directives for the discipline and disposition of the department and its officers. Furthermore, he is responsible to exercise and discharge functions, powers and duties of the department. Since the department has to address the violent crime, it is important to involve the departmental leadership to notify the current situation of the community.
