Self concept or self esteem is the acceptance or approval of a person to the extent a person likes one-self, it can also be explained as how much people value themselves. It includes the degree of evaluation, self concept may or may not have positive or negative effects on a person. High self esteem is positive and low self esteem is related to negative evaluation.
The way a person visualizes the personality and physical traits of themselves, can be based on four means the reaction that is received from others, by comparing one-self with others, what is expected of the person in social circumstances and the role the perform in a group or play as an individual for others.

In order to impress the class of 400 enrolled student; Derek will develop a mental frame that he has to be work hard to be desired by other people, to receive flattery and admiration from students and to ensure people look out for his company. He will create a level of comparison of himself with others by visualizing himself better from other in the selected course. A previous major in the same course will be his role model; he will try to inhabit the qualities of the same person.

Words are symbolic because a collection of these symbols create a representation of ideas. Connotation and denotation are utilized to distinguish and convey among two separate kinds of word extensions or meanings. A strict literal definition of word is called denotation, whereas elements of attitude, color or emotion are added by connotation. The literal and emotional meanings of a word while translating can be cultural specific or bounded by culture.
