Introduction

Users of HR Services within an Organization and Their Needs

Every department in an organization can make use of Human Resources services. Whether it is assistance in identifying trends, or training managers how to manage employees effectively, providing policies and procedures for activities regarding staff employment or taking a 'people perspective' on issues etc. they are trained to identify and meet the needs of all departments and hired employees (Becker & Huselid, 2006, pp. 898-925). The key users of HR services are line managers, employees and Trade unions.

Line Managers

The job of line manager is one of the most difficult jobs in the workplace because they are the ones who come in direct connect with the diverse workforce. Line managers act as a supervisor to the diverse workforce, which bring a number of challenges. In order to resolve these workforce day-to-day challenges, line managers has to work with HR and make use of their services. Hence, it become essential and sometimes obligatory that line managers and HR need to work in collaboration to increase production effectiveness and overall organizational profitability (Boselie & Paauwe, 2005).

Employees

Employee and HR relations start with the process of employee hiring till he/ she leaves the organization. Employees make use of HR services ranged from maintaining work life balance to arbitration. The core of HR is to serve internal customers that are employees of an organization. Employees are the one who make the most use of HR services in their work tenure. They use HR services such as career development, wellness, training and development, compensation, personal and professional enrichment. The effective use of HR service by employee results in strengthening the employment relationship.

Trade Union

The union consists of employees, workers and union leaders who have united to protect, promote and work towards their common cause and interests. They negotiate wages and ensure the employees are working in conditions that meet the health and quality standards, ensure the relationship between the employer and the union members who are the employees is smooth, raise demands on behalf of the employees if they are not satisfied etc. and all this can only be done if the human resource department provides the required information such as pay scale, job description and contract details that can help recognize each employee's separate needs. For the negotiation of demands or assisting in identification of issues, the union needs to be in constant coordination with the human resource department (Hancke, 1993, pp. 593-613)

Ensuring Users Needs are Prioritized Effectively

First step is to understand, assess and evaluate each of the needs of the users. It is necessary to be fair and unbiased during this process. Discussion with senior management and stakeholders as well as other users will ensure that all issues are resolved beforehand. All users can give presentations on their causes and projects and create awareness of their situation.
