Concept of Faith

Faith can be defined as a personal preference, or it can spiritually based. Faith helps us to become closer to God, and this how we believe in him, and to me, our faith is always being tested. When we are going through tough times and making a tough decision, there's always something, or someone that tells us otherwise. Church is a prime example of how faith works, but we have to stay true to our belief. With church, you will have your good with the bad ones. For example, if we talk about Bishop Eddie Long who was in the headlines of news some months back. Some people raised question to his wife's motives for staying with him, but she believes in her husband and their marriage enough to try and disregard the claims of raping children. This, all itself, is great example of faith, whether it's in the lord or your marriage (Hein, 2006).

To me, the word faith is very complex, especially when in terms of religion, because with there, being numerous religions out there people faith will really be tested and how much their really willing to believe what their church's tell then, or what people may say about them for what they believe in. From when I was a child in the church, I learned to have faith in the Lord, and in my day to day life I know faith is one of the most important things in my life, because, in my opinion, faith can sometimes give someone a purpose in life no matter what it is.
