Introduction

The Total quality management can be defined as an integrative philosophy of management for continuously improving the quality of products and processes. In these demanding times, the organizations have to remain competitive in order to achieve its objectives. The traditional view of operating business is to stress employees for higher productivity along with quality products or services. The researchers and theorists have developed comprehensive methods to improve the quality level of the underlying products and services. It is not possible to attain the higher level of quality by only adopting effective methods of production. The researchers claimed that the organizations need to conduct in-depth analysis of all segments of their operations. The quality management require improvement in all segments of operations. It is a fact that the actual work carried out by middle and ground level employees while the management is supposed to give instruction and allocate the resources required to carry on operations. This is a traditional view of management. The researchers believe that the organizations need to focus on employees and empower the employees. The empowerment of employees has significance importance in achieving higher level of quality. The body of total quality management clearly states that the employees should be empowered in the context of sharing their ideas, suggestions and opinions with the management.

This provides impetus in reducing the duplicate activities and saving cost. The employees must feel free when they are sharing their ideas and problems that they usually encounter at the work field. The processes of organisations need to be evaluated on periodic basis for improvement. The feedback of customers and other stakeholders is very important in improving the quality level because they are end users of the finished products. Their needs and requirements should be incorporated in the processes and employees training programs to meet their requirement. This report will identify that how an organization can adopt principle of total quality management in the field of day care centres. In order to achieve excellence in any field the identification of the stakeholders is very important. The report will also cover that how the management of a day care centre can meet the requirements and expectation of day care centre's stakeholders. The report will also cover the moral and ethical values that a day care centre should adopt to remain competitive in the business. The improvement in quality is not a one day job but it requires lots of efforts for long period of time to witness continuity in improvement. In the later section of the report, the report will focus on designing jobs, conducting and evaluating a quality improvement audit of work force (CHARANTIMATH, 2006, pp. 35).
