Systems analysis is a dissection into parts components for purposes of studying how the components interact and work pieces. Structured analysis was one of the first formal strategies developed for systems analysis of information systems and computer applications.
Modern structured analysis is a technique focused on the process used for the needs of a system model. The models are structured images that illustrate the processes, inputs, outputs, and files necessary to respond to events. Structured analysis presented an overall strategy has been adopted by many other techniques - model-driven development. A model is a representation of reality.
The Environmental Model
Thus the first great role model to be developed is the one that defines the interface between the system and the rest of the universe, i.e. the environment. The first component of the model of the environment is a brief statement, concise text for the purpose of the system. It is intended for those not directly involved in the development of the system and outlines the tangible benefits, measurable will be achieved by the new system.
