Personal Life Experience

“You cannot free a bird, if it is not going to fly, you cannot live a life if you don't ask why”

Life is a journey. In this journey, we go through ups and downs, we face obstacles, we learn and we grow. In my life too, I go through many stages, learned in my own way and developed my personality and life. In the early academic career, I used to be a dull, tedious and was struggling to shine my academic life with the marvels of achievements. Deep in my heart, I had the profound desire to achieve excellence. But, I was lacking direction, commitment and determination to work in a way that would lend a hand to me in order to taste success. The uncertainty of the path on which we walk is so much that any detour can make or break our life. Same thing happened to me. I was walking on a road on every corner of which I had to face disappointment, failure and frustration. Every moment that was passing by was becoming the moment of regret. I was drowning in the thirst of achieving success. Then the moment came that turned the direction of my life. It was when I was in 6th grade that I bought the flyer announcing and shouting out loud the invitation to brighten up myself. It was the flyer of Tustin Young Marines. Initially, my parents did not approve the idea of joining this program until and unless I made them sure that this is what I wanted to do, this is where I wanted to be and this is where I can learn and grow. With their consent I joined this program and my whole life changed upside down.

Life after joining this program made me shine, provided me with the courage and disciplined me in a way that I began to get success. Being part of this program I got to know the reality of life and difficulties that a soldier has to face in his life. This exposure to tough life of a soldier instilled in me sense to live life in an organized way. Moreover, I also got to know the sense of pride. Before going there, I had no clue about the phenomenon of sense of pride. I got to know about it, understood it, felt it and observed people enjoying it. When I sensed this phenomenon of pride from so near only then I realized this is something that is so missing from my life. I felt deprived of enjoying sense of accomplishment, sense of pride and sense of self fulfillment. I began to gather courage so that I can take up on challenges, I can begin task that I used to procrastinate and I can also feel like others sense of fulfillment and sense of pride.

Time that I spent in the Young Marine program was not only an activity it was a life awakening ...
