Assessment in general terms is the process of collecting, synthesizing, information to aid classroom decision-making. There seems to be widespread agreement about the utility of such simulations for assessment in psychiatry, at least at the medical student level. When one thinks of assessment, one habitually thinks of the paper and pencil tests that were in their own schooling. Although this assessment practices may provide valid information about older students learning, however, these methods are often questionable in assessing younger student's current performance progress. According to Gullo, the problem block from the mismatch in between the young student's developmental capabilities and the expected performance in various paper-and-pencil assessment formats as well as the mismatch between the content and strategies assessed and the content and strategies emphasized in the early childhood curriculum (Klein, 2000).
