The main purpose of this paper is to design a strategic plan for the special educational needs. The paper makes discussion on the strategic plan for the implementation of an inclusive educational practice which has been designed for the early year's foundation stage. The paper also makes discussion on the rationale of the plan that makes demonstration on the critical understanding of the legislation, equal opportunities and enabling strategies in relation to underpinning concepts and principles of inclusion.
A) SEN Strategy for The enchanted castle day nursery LTD: Action Plan Monitoring: May 2012
1) Aim of the Plan
The main aim of this strategic plan for the inclusive educational practice is to increase the standards of the children who are in special educational needs for the purpose of developing an increased and developed inclusive education system (Cawley, 2002, p. 423).
This inclusive educational plan is comprised of the following aims:
1) To develop the inclusive practice within the setting
2) To assure that there is a separate provision for the children with the learning, behavioural and emotional difficulties
3) To assure that there is a separate provision for the children who have been suffering from the Autistic spectrum disorders and making it sure that the staff is well aware about the problem and knows about the ways through which it can be approached.
4) To make sure that all the team members and the key persons and parents have their involevements in the special educational needs decision making.
5) To assure that there are provisions for the special educational needs children in order to raise the standard of living of these children.
6) To assure that the setting is working for developing an increased and developed inclusive education system.
1) To develop the inclusive practice within the setting
In order to develop the inclusive practice within the setting, different inititatives have been taken. The inclusive educational plan has the key outcomes of gaining the standards of children so that they can gain the healthy, employable and safe life and can become an active and positive citizen. The key outcome is to develop the capabilities among the children so that they can tackle their negative outcomes. Therefore, different initiatives have been adopted.
1) Proper training and development: Proper training and development of the teachers and the personnels have been recorded, so that the teachers and the related personnels should be well ware of the problems which could be faced by the people suffering from different diabilities. This training and development session will be focusing on different factors like the barriers faced by the children in learning and participation, and the practices which would be helpful for the children in overcoming these barriers. These sessions will also be helpful for the teachers and the related staff to understand the ways through which the learning outcomes can be improved, and thw easy through which these practices can be encouraged and sustained within the castle day nursery LTD.
