Thesis Statement

Stereotype and prejudice have prolonged impact on individuals who categorized by individuals or group of people by society.

Introduction

Many theorists see stereotype and prejudice as interrelated. As long as stereotype remains in society, prejudice follows it. This perception has insinuation in society, and no one can escape from the stereotypes, prevailing in the society (Ehrlich, 1973). The basic fundamental of a stereotype is a belief or idea about any category of individual, or group of people. These individuals often face prejudice and discrimination in the society. This notion creates inequality and deforms ones' reasoning and logical thinking. Stereotype against an individual of different sexual orientation, for the idea of feminism and racial difference are some of its examples.

However the new researches, undertaken by American university shows, being aggressive, eating inadequately and being incapable of focusing on things, are those problems commonly find in people who are experiencing prejudice or felt discrimination ( Inzlicht, 2013) Basically, it has an adverse impact on those who are discriminated and prejudiced by individuals and society in general. Several tests and researches are undertaken to examine the people in prejudice and stereotype situations. A group of people is engaged, in a series of tests, to evaluate their performance against negative stereotype. It is quite evident that there performance varies, in the presence and removal of prejudiced and stereotyping situations.

Examples of Stereotype

The first and for most common examples of stereotype is the man-woman difference. This debate is as long as history recorded. Both the genders argue over the superiority over each other. However People consider women as weaker gender and that concept leads to Feminism. The idea of feminism denies the law of gender equality. It restricts women to perform as a work force. Women support the phenomena of Feminism and separate themselves from man and the so-called manly world.

Racist stereotype is another example. One section of people often has fixed ideas about the physical and mental abilities of Black and White men. This prejudice effects negatively on both the races. A research had taken place in which two experiments have been conducted with the Black and white Athletes. The black athletes did not perform well in Golf Task; that framed to test the intellectual side of the Athletes. While White athletes performed poorly in Physical ability.
