Introduction

Sports are not only an excellent means of recreation, but are also essential for health and well being of individuals. It has been scientifically proven that people who are more involved in sports have less medical problems and are more active and fit, thus highlighting the importance of sports in human life and routine. It is due to the same reason that sports competitions have long history and have been taking place since a number of years in almost all the parts of the world. Apart from the medical and recreational benefits, sports also play an essential role in maintenance of relations between various nations and different teams play against each other to encourage friendly relations and promote harmony. It is due to the same reason that international sports are granted great importance and significance, and are subjected to international coverage, due to the impact they place on various nations and other positive traits attached to them. Details of the Event

The college soccer tournament would take place in India, Delhi, and five teams would be travelling from America all the way to India, in order to compete with the local teams and thus improve the social as well as sports terms with both the countries (Henderson, 2002). The teams would be provided details about their stay in India, the local customs, the actions that have to be performed during the stay and others that must be avoided. As in charge of the event, I would conduct an orientation before the departure of the team members and would also inform them about the climate, the expected general attitude of the Indians and the security measures that must be taken during the stay. An overall plan regarding the trip and stay can be summarized as follows:

Location

The tournament would take place in DDA Sports Complex, which is one of the largest soccer grounds in Delhi and also provides a number of sports facilitates, thus assisting the players in performing their best aptitude. It is eminent to mention here that DDA has a number of sport complexes in Delhi, and the one selected for the tournament is located near the residential area of the American team members, so that they can be saved from the hassle of long distance travelling. Moreover, the hotel as well as the DDA complex is located in posh area of the city, in order to ensure that there are not much security concerns and all the facilities are available to the team members, including the chance to shop and get whatever they want (Kolanad, 2001). As the tournament would require the team members to stay for at least 15 days, these facilities have been kept in view before selecting the location.
