The Role of Mayor of the London

As the administrative of strategic authority the role of the Mayor of London is to encourage social development, wealth creation, improvement of the environment and economic development, along this the mayor is responsible for many other duties that are related to the tourism an culture that also includes responsibilities of the Parliament Square and Trafalgar Square.

The things that a Mayor is capable to do

The mayor is capable of doing wide range of things because he has certain duties and powers and a common power of doing anything that can result in promoting the social and economic development and also improve the environment of London. But before he can use any of his powers the Mayor of the city is suppose to discuss with the Londoners and with respect to all the cases, the Mayor is responsible for promoting equal opportunities for everyone (legacy.london.gov.uk, 2012, n.d).

Strategies

The mayor of the London develops policies and plans for health inequalities, economic regeneration and development, housing, culture, covering transport, development and planning, and a wide variety of issues related to the environment that includes biodiversity, climate change, air quality, waste disposal and ambient noise. These particular plans fit mutually so that it helps in delivering the policies of the Mayor. Among them, these plans should be able in contributing towards the health of the Londoners and sustainable development

Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London reveals his visions for an improved focused Greater London Authority on key issues of London. While speaking to London's first “Congress of borough” leaders while the general election, He offered his plan for a better stand over the concerns that are really vital for the Londoners that includes transferring a number of powers to the boroughs. There were many issues that were focused by the Mayor of London in this session that were related to making developments within London so that it could benefit the Londoner. It has been observed that the Mayor is striving hard in order to focus on making London greener and make the people realise this fact as well. He also wants London to be recognised as the leader of the world by improving the quality of the environment globally and locally.
