Research Methods

1)

Selecting the right research method is very important for the people conducting researches. Their whole research depends on the method that is being used and the design that is being applied to the research. The researchers have to make sure that they utilize the best and the adequate research method and design so that their research can be conducted in the most appropriate manner(Black, 2009, pp. 71-6). It is important for the people to realize that their selection should be accurate to ensure proper research on the selected topic. Sometimes the researchers choose the research method and design with which they are familiar and comfortable with, which should not be the case. Research method and design should be chosen on the basis of the topic of the study and what methodology will best suit the study(Kerlinger & Lee, 2011, pp. 10-21).

Earlier discussed research approach further streamlined with the support of two relevant research techniques such as qualitative and quantitative. Qualitative technique further leads to inductive approach whereas quantitative technique explores deductive approach respectively.

Though, both qualitative and quantitative technique possess great value in terms of carrying out any form of academic research, they are very much distinguished from each other. The researcher has to choose anyone of them t make the study more systematic and formal, however, they both together may also be used together in the same study under the perspective mixed methodology but usually either of them a single technique is selected. In fact, mixed methodology may become complex and complicated to some extent depending on the nature of study (Creswell, 2003, pp. 50-122).

Moreover, the quantitative technique is applied when researcher is intended to measure the collected data statistically. On the other hand, under the qualitative mood data is descriptively analysed. Subsequently, the former technique explain already existed facts testing the proposed theory while latter technique explores some other aspects of study formulating of a new theory. Therefore, the selection of qualitative technique was made after taking into account all these factors to meet the requirement of proposed research study. In fact, the title of proposed study is unique and aimed at elaborating new dimensions (deVaus, 2010, 91-112).

Qualitative research includes the different conclusions that are drawn on a sample undertaken for a study. It is important for the people to identify as to how they should decide which methodology to use (Creswell, 2003, pp. 50-122). The number of people required for a particular study does not determine the kind of study that should be conducted. Qualitative research includes past researches and studies that were conducted. With this, it can be made sure that the people are able to relate their current study to the past studies that were conducted. Experts say that in this case, ensuring reliability and validity is a serious problem. As the current study is based on the past researches that have been conducted, ensuring reliability is very difficult. This means that while deciding which methodology and design to adopt, it ...
