Introduction

There are a number of activities and hobbies that many individuals adapt or follow in accordance with their personalities, taste and preferences. Some chose painting, some writing and others prefer reading to satisfy their intellectual thirst. However, for me, the common aspect in all these constructive hobbies is what individuals learn from them. Hence, it will be fair to say that reading and writing are perhaps the two most creative, constructive and refreshing activities that benefits individuals of all ages in a number of ways. In fact, I believe that these two areas are the very basics of the further more specific and complex tasks and activities that individuals will perform in the later stages of their lives. This is perhaps the reason why children from the very beginning of their academic span are introduced to these two activities.

Personal Experiences

I believe learning is a lifelong experience. Nobody is perfect. All of us may be good at something but there always exist room for improvement. In fact, I agree with the philosophy that nullifies the idea of perfectionism in any field. The three most primary activities that I was introduced to as a child were speaking, reading and writing. All these activities are also three areas that can always evolve.

In various different forms, ways and situations, I take help from my reading and writing skills to perform all the other tasks. I still remember the days when my schoolteachers initially taught me how to read and write. The initial activities that started from learning the 26 alphabets in the English language, their sounds and their use have now made me able to read almost anything.
