This research paper is based on the reflective assignment. In this assignment I will examine the book of Arendt, Hannah “The Human Condition”. Hannah Arendt is both a philosopher and theorist of politics. We can also say that it is even an historian who has a taste for the great historical generalization.
In modern Human Condition, Hannah Arendt establishes a hierarchy of concepts which allows him to analyze one typical turnaround. At the top is the action. Foremost political action allows the creation of a common world, a public domain where man is beyond the containment biological family and the isolation of the self. The existence of this common world is the condition of our relationship to reality. The action also puts us in relation to human plurality, according to Arendt, is our only access to the infinite reality of the world. Hannah Arendt examines the human condition in the modern world that time was the test of totalitarianism (Tolle, 1982). Arendt proposes the term vita activa to designate three fundamental human activities: labor, work and action and raises the hypothesis that these central human concerns must prevail in all human activities, but no order can be established. On the other hand, Arendt assumes that no life is possible without a world which directly or indirectly indicates the presence of other human beings. Apart from its two central assumptions, many other assumptions were made by the author.
Hannah Arendt appears as the product of the culture of Weimar. The work is the activity that corresponds to the biological process of the human body. Produced consumer goods necessary for biological survival of the individual and of the human species. This is a limitation on the nature of man. The work is repetitive activity and circular calling the other and vice versa, with no other goal than death. The work is not the naturalness of human existence and provides an artificial world objects, this activity produces objects of use, which are not intended for human consumption, but to build objects sustainable world in which we locate. Action, the only activity that directly relates to men without the intermediary of things or matter, corresponds to the human condition of plurality; plurality is specifically the condition of political life (William, 1991).
Discussion and Analysis
In Chapter I: the human condition, Arendt says what it means human condition and presents his conception of the notion of vita activa. These three activities and their corresponding conditions are according to Arendt closely related to the more general condition of human existence: life and death, birth and death. The work not only ensures the survival of the individual but also of the species. The work provides a degree of permanence and duration in fleeting nature of human time. Action, to the extent that it is committed to establish and maintain political bodies, creates the condition for remembrance that is history.
The sense that Arendt offers here the word vita activa clearly contradicts the ...
