Stapleton café is a business operating in the Science building. In January of 2010, a university café re-opened with a new student team running the operations. For this study, we will concentrate on the sales of coffee, sodas and total sales (cash). In order to continue monitoring the viability of the business, data was collected on a daily basis about the items sold. Analysis has been made regarding descriptive statistics of the two major products i.e. Sodas and Coffees as well as with respect to sales and maximum daily temperature.
Frequency Interpretation
The meaningful tabulation of data is the one of the first steps that are performed in any statistical study. The data is collected by sampling and summarized in a table, which is called frequency distribution, in which each variable value associated with it certain numbers representing the number of times it has appeared, their ratio with respect to other variable values, etc. Therefore, a frequency distribution of data is divided into classes grouping together with their frequencies and relative percentage (Ott, 2003, 87). Frequency distributions vary depending on whether they correspond to a discrete variable or a continuous variable.
Frequency Distribution Histogram
The histogram is a widely used tool, especially for summarizing data discrete or continuous measured in an interval scale. It is often used to show the main features of the data distribution in a practical way. A histogram divides the possible values ??of the data into classes or groups.

The above table shows that frequency distribution of the number of the soda cans sold in the period of 47 days. The sale is divided into 9 intervals of width of 5.
The above histogram shows that the highest unit sales of the soda was in the 6th interval with the sales of 9 cans.

The above table presents the unit sales of sodas and coffees with respect to days of the week, the café operates.
.
The above chart clearly shows the per day sales of the sodas and the coffees separately. As it is seen that the sodas are sold greater than coffees in four days of the week except Friday where coffee out passes the sodas.
The above table shows the relation of the sales amount with the operation days of the weeks. Tuesday has the highest sales, while Friday has lowest sales in the period of the 47 days.
