Introduction

The South Miami Hospital is a part of Baptist Health South Florida. It commenced its operations in 1960. It is presently licensed for 467 beds, and provides services such as addiction healing, heart attack unit, cancer services, cancer, cardiovascular services, robotic, and weight loss surgery. The hospital provides services to all kinds of patients that are in need of the service they give. The main feature of this hospital is that it provides care to millions of patients who do not have insurance and need free care.

The following is the mission statement of Baptist Health which is reflected in all of its subsidiary hospitals. Their mission is to make better the health of ever indivudal. It is an organization that is based on the spirit of Jesus Christ and Juedo- Christian ethic. (Baptist Health South Florida, n.d.). Following is their mission statement:

The Human resources has a critical role in ensuring that the elements of the mission statement. The HR has to recruit the right people for the appropriate role in order to make sure that the patients get the high level of care and concern. The biggest test for any hospital today is the access to a sturdy, competent and motivated staff. Hospitals are mainly dependent on the performance of their staff, and they are a main component of their total costs ((West et.al, 2006, pp.983-1002). Apart from the physical capital, the human resource is an important asset to the organization.

Discussion

Recruitment and Retention of sufficient quantity of well qualified health care professionals is a problem for this hospital. The hospital requires reasonable and established strategies created by the human resource managers for retaining and recruiting employees in hospitals.
