Reliability

Reliability requires the use of instruments of uniform data collection and process of investigation that are designed to improve consistency. For that information is relevant, it takes careful planning, so that information is clearly related to the audit objectives and is collected from individuals who are best able to provide it. For information that is complete and accurate, we need instruments for data collection and survey administration methods that are well planned.

Reliability represents that the information that is provided by the researcher to what extent is fulfilling the objective of the research study.  All the resources that are used in this research are collected from the reliable resources and all the valid facts, figures, and information are taken for the particular research. Reliability of data collection sources becomes ever more significant because of current communication and publication information accessibility to anyone irrespective of skill level or ethics. In case of primary data, reliability grows to a greater extent, since the study involves active participation of the researcher (Rosnow, 2008).

Reliability is observed as being analogous to dependability, in their article regarding the requirement for rigor in qualitative research. Reliability is the ability of the instrument to measure that which it is measuring. It is “the consistency or constancy of a measuring instrument”. These definitions reiterate the requirement for the researcher to bracket out the preconceptions and remain as detached as possible. Reliability in qualitative research refers to the degree of consistency with which instances are assigned in the similar category by different observers or by the similar observer on different occasions.
