Motivation Intrinsic and Extrinsic

Introduction

Sometimes authors think that extrinsic motivation is shallow or empty, but it can be a very powerful force. The most difficult things become tolerable, when we have something to gain in the end. With extrinsic motivation authors find that we should concentrate hard, we'll be tempted to delay the task. We complete the task with a degree of quality to get the reward, but we do not care who is perfect or achieve excellence. We will be much denied to do it if there is no reward. Extrinsic motivation is easier to create than intrinsic motivation. Extrinsic motivation comes from outside. It's the kind of motivation that leads us to do something that we love, because we know that in the end there will be a reward. Think of things that make your life to achieve a particular goal perhaps study hard in college not because they like to study, but because they want to earn a degree, or maybe working in a boring job because they want to pay.

Indeed, it is unlikely that learning is achieved if the learner does nothing, does not practice. Therefore; proposed training activities are situational. The esteem needs success reinforces motivation and failure weakens (Amynta et al, 2010). There is a tendency to engage in an activity if it has a chance of success. Instead, if you feel that you may fail, we avoid engaging. Therefore; the dose level of difficulty of an activity in relation to the supposed pre-requisite but also establish a balanced growth path that allows the learner to want to do and feel comfortable taking into account its achievements. Instead, we should avoid too easy tasks that are not perceived as a guarantee of success or progress (Amynta et al, 2010).

All the three articles reflect findings about the intrinsic and extrinsic motivations. These articles are written by different authors in different years but, reflect relative similar findings and approaches about the intrinsic and extrinsic motivations. Let us start by analyzing and summarizing the first article “Profiles of intrinsic and extrinsic motivations: A person-centered

approach to motivation and achievement in middle school” (Amynta et al, 2010). In this article, authors have designed a study to find the combinations of intrinsic and extrinsic motivations that occur naturally. It's the kind of motivation that leads us to ...
