Introduction

McDonaldization is the process in which rationalization is taken to extreme levels. The term is sociological in its nature and thus it is needed to be analyzed and discussed in that context. The process talks about breaking down things into the smaller components until it cannot be broken down any further. In this way, things are much easier to understand. When Max Weber used the model of bureaucracy to represent the direction of this changing society, Ritzer sees the fast food restaurant has become a more representative contemporary paradigm.
