3.1 Employee performance measurement in health care

The development of the health care organization's leaders depends over the performance principles in order to help the organizations in achieving the business results that are needed for improving the performance of the employees and their productivity for continuous improvement. The three principles of leaders and managers, performance partnership, effective communication and organizations performance improvement provide a foundation of excellence. The development of employees is only possible when their leaders possess effective skills of communication which enhance the concept of continuous improvement in organization.

Employee performance measurement is the most important management element and is to be done in almost every other organization for improving the quality and efficiency of workforce. There are various procedures which should be followed for the proper measurement of employees' performance. This assessment of care is conducted against the defined clinical guidance and the standards that are recognized internationally. The methods for improving the employees performance includes strategy planning and functioning of improvement criteria. These criteria involve measurement indicators that are used in measuring the employees' performance and productivity. These indicators are quality, quantity, service, cost effectiveness, absenteeism and other major indicators considered in performance appraisal and assessment center. All of these indicators are key elements in evaluating and conducting the performance measurement process (Rondinelli, 2009).

3.2 The educating and training process of employees in the health care organization is another significant element for the success of every health organization. The health care industry is changing with the changes in medications, treatment methods and new surgical methods. It is seemed important for the health care organization to training and educate their employees and improve their services by ensuring the well being of the patient and by improving the life quality. The technological advancement plays a crucial role in educating and training the staff and introducing them with latest changes in the technological advancements. The needs of training in employees are identified through analysis of their overall performance. The proper process of conducting surveys and evaluating the current employee satisfaction and performance from work related assignments provide general points which show that where training and education of employee is needed. These training and education is conducted through various programs and processes. However, there are certain models in health care organizations that describe how well they can improve their employees' productivity. Training and educating employees in a health care organization is important as this industry needs to give absolute improvement to the patients and other health related issues which are being treated by them (Kazandjian, 1999).

3.3 As the part of developmental programs, the line management is the main management which is responsible for the on-job training programs and enriches the coaching along with applied strategies of motivation in any health care organization by giving the feedback of performance to the subordinates.
