Abstract

The intention of this dissertation is to explore the connotation of the leadership in enhancing the performance of the organization. The study extricates the role of the leaders in reshaping the behavior as well as performance of the employees in positive direction. The study differentiates conventional and contemporary approach of leadership and highlights the triggers that induced change in the leadership approach. Different approaches of the leadership styles are going to be discussed in this dissertation. Moreover, the study extricates the decisions of the leaders regarding the selection of their leadership style on the basis of changes in human behavior as well as changes in working conditions of the contemporary organizations. The study highlights the impact of technology advancements and globalization on the demand and challenges of the leadership in the contemporary organizations. Furthermore, the study has intention to discuss the future trend of the leadership in the organizations and the crucial triggers that are expected to stimulate future challenges. The purpose of the study is to identify influential leadership styles that would be appropriate to meet the future challenges. For this purpose, the study will be facilitating the interviews with the leaders of different organizations of the United Kingdom in order to gather relevant data pertain to the topic of the dissertation.
