Executive Summary

In this paper, the case in Singapore has been discussed where bus drivers from china went on strike, out of them five workers have spend 6 to 7 weeks in jail. This created a conflict in an industry which is not a good sign for the company and for the economy of the country, which has built a negative image in the world. The industrial conflict arises due to the disagreement between management and labor in the company. The unions were in response of workers to the most pernicious effects of industrialization. The labor union plays a vital role in bringing up issues of workers to the management for the negotiation. The unions are linked, somehow, in the medieval guilds of artisans, insofar as those organizations brought together people belonging to the same profession and therefore based on the work done. But at the same time, unions differ from the guilds on this essential point: the modern unions grew on the basis of the workers' struggle, the world of work and foremost industrial workers to protect their just rights meet the entrepreneurs and the owners of the means of production. The defense of the existential interests of workers in all sectors where their rights come into play, is the role of unions.

This paper is to discover the industrial conflict that can arise by the conflict between management and labor union in the organization. The employee unions can help in removing barriers in the adoption of work practices that would bring out the best performance in employees through recommending a long-run investment in the concept of change in the positive sense. As the factory system was developing, many people left the countryside in search of scarce jobs in large urban centers. This excess supply of labor increased the dependence of the working class. To reduce this dependency is created the first trade unions, especially among the artisans, threatened with their work, and already had a tradition of unity in the guilds. These groups had to face opposition from governments and employers, who considered illegal associations or conspirators who sought to restrict economic development. As proposed from the professor, the case in Singapore has been discussed to elaborate the topic of industrial conflict where labor union went on strike that lasted for two days because management was not ready to negotiate with the labor union, which created a conflict in an industry that is not a good sign for the company and for the economy of the country, which has built a negative image in the world.
