Task 1. Explain what are the HR principles and good practice available to guide employer handling of disciplinary matters with employees.

Introduction

Every company wants a professional excellence from its workforce. Majority of workers also want to have a positive relationship with their employer. But the Human Resource professionals well know that some workers will fall short. Whether it relates to the quality of work or they engaged in violation of company policy. Human Resource will need to take the lead in the discipline those workers (Barrett, 2003). It is s critical task for Human Resource manager to follow simple and clear guidelines of any process relates to discipline. However, roadmap can do more than just keep emotions from overrunning a meeting. It can reduce the risk that associated with the terminating and dictionary workers which protects company from costly battles of court.

Disciplinary Setting

First ask for HR manager to either create a certain disciplinary policy and procedure or then provide its copy to each employee and also received a sign acknowledgment that show each employees has read and understood the organizations standards. It is also the responsibility of employee to abide by the policies or the face the consequence. When manager handling the discipline of employees than he or she also must follow the procedure to set out in handbook so it will exhibit fair consistent treatment towards all employees and project as well as company from the legal action.

Communication Plan

First and most important step that I will be considered is planning a communication before meeting. The plan should be focus on inform employee that decision has to be taken against him about feasible layoffs (Barrett, 2003). It would be better for me to develop the general communication document with list the points that will be helpful during meeting time.

Monitoring Employee

It is a part of manager to regular monitoring its employees in order to make sure that whether they complying the discipline policy. Employer needs to give a firm but polite reminder as the response to first minor infraction. Levitt & Levitt, (2003) indicates that Bad bosses does not behave adequately and they starts humiliate their workers and they act s rudely on regular basis. It is good practice of manager when notice employee through making personal email, call or outside of his break time. He makes sure that note of verbal warning in the employee file along with the date and time.

Communication Open and Show Evidence

This is important for a manager that he or she should make a communication openly but more importantly in honest way. Honest decision making is an important task to overcome negative emotions because it will be known to me that I choose correct decision. Employee may also have some better plan for the worst scenarios when they know about the feasibilities (Paggiaro et.al, 2009).
