“Performance appraisal system helps the employees to better focus on their interest, become more motivated, and ultimately become more successful employees”.

Introduction

Human resource is considered as one of the most essential and critical department of any organization. Organizations form departments as the entities for organizing people, relationship reports, and to work in such a way that is going to support the achievement of the organization's goals in the best possible way. In order to develop the company's strategy human resource department plays a vital role. In the present situation businesses want to benchmark themselves as an Employer of Choice and for this company is receiving recognitions for the way it is treating its employees.

It is counted in those companies in which people want to work and get them retained with the organization. Company for this purpose recruit one of the qualified applicants, most suitable candidates are selected and retain the most talented employees. Once the organization recruits the employee the human resource department then has to review the performance of an employee on a regular basis, through proper performance appraisal procedures and systems. The action plan for every employee is set on the basis of performance appraisal made by the HR department. If any training is required according to the results of evaluation then it will be provided to the concerned person.

Issues

Being a Human Resource Manager of a company it is the main task to go for problem identification within the organization and look for the issues that are prevailing in the company, along with providing solutions of the difficulties organization facing. The main reason of issues is lack of performance appraisal system in the organization. However, for solving the issues performance appraisal system is necessary because it primarily focuses on how employee is performing. The organization checks the progress of that particular employee towards the desired goals and aims. The issues existing within the company are because of the reason that, there is no formalized performance appraisal system for employees in the company.

Employee Tardiness

Employee tardiness or employee absence is becoming a perturbing issue for organizations because as a result the overall productivity of the company is decreasing. Every employer expects an employee to be on time for work especially when he/she is scheduled for work. Occasionally, the employees give reasons of being late were problems with public transport or traffic or family issues. At times the other reasons were of, personal sickness, lack of sleep, guests arriving unexpectedly at the wrong time, getting children ready for school, and so on and so forth problems that make an employee late for work (Tiwari, 2011). The employee tardiness is to be addressed on time so that the organization would not lose all its clients and stay safe from suffering setbacks on a grand scale.
