The human resource development is an area of the human resources management plans that allows the managers and the leaders of the organizations to develop a framework for the development of their human resources. The human resource development particularly involves the development of personal, skills as well as knowledge of the employees. This paper aims at discussing the articles related to the human resources development. Two articles are critically analysed and compared. The strengths and weaknesses of each paper are discussed and the conclusion is made based on the basis of analysis. The recommendations to the practitioners are also discussed.

In today's fast pace of competition the importance of effective management has increased. Along with other management aspects in the businesses, the importance of management of human resources in the organizations has increased. The competition among the organizations has increased and the management of the human resources is the aspect by which the organizations can add value to their businesses. Looking at the importance of the human resources the human resource development programs are being developed by the organizations. The human resource development (HRD) provides the basis for assisting the employees in developing and building their personal as well as organizational skills. The HRD allows the employees to expand their skills, knowledge and their abilities in their respected areas. The organizations of today's modern era are establishing the development plans with which they provide their employees the opportunity to have the appropriate training. All the aspects of human resources management and development have greatly assisted the employees as well as the managers and leaders to accomplish their work goals and objectives in efficient and effective manner.
In human resource development programs, there are various critical aspects. In most of the organizations, the development opportunities are particularly focused on the male employees and the female employees are given less importance in this aspect. However, there also exist the organizations that provide the equal opportunities to their employees to learn and grow and to improve and increase their knowledge and skills. It has also been found that there are certain glass ceilings in the organizations that do not allow the women to grow in the organizations. The women are not given the opportunities to become the leaders and the managers. The women are considered that they cannot lead the employees and that they cannot become an effective manager and the leader. It is also considered that women cannot take effective and efficient decisions.
The selected two articles are also related to the gender inequality issues and other related issues in the organization.
