HTC Corporation

HTC Corporation is formally known as High Tech Computer Corporation. High Tech Computer Corporation is a Taiwan based company and produces Smartphone's and tablets. The initial step took by the company was to develop Smartphone based Microsoft windows mobile operating system which is known as OS software. In year 2009, HTC focus shifted from windows mobile devices towards Android OS, and in 2010, they shifted towards Windows Phone OS as well. High Tech Computer Corporation is also a member of Open Handset Alliance. It is a group based on the handset manufacturers and mobile network operators which work for the advancement of mobile device platform of Android. One of greatest achievement of HTC is the HTC dream which was marketed in many countries as T-mobile. It was the first android phone in the market it is initially launched in Poland (HTC Corporation).

High Tech Computer Corporation was established by Cher Wand and Peter Chou in year 1997. There was also one member named as Sam Taylor, he was also involved in the early development of the company other members did not acknowledge him due to which he is now only shareholder in the spirit. In year 1998, HTC started to manufacture notebook computers and designed first wireless and touch hand-held device. The company has introduced many new technologically advanced products in their history. In 2002, they created first Microsoft-powered Smartphone and in 2005 they introduced Microsoft 3G phone. The best achievements of HTC are in year 2000 when they launched touch screen smart phones in the market. The palm Treo 650 and iPaq are also developed by HTC (HTC Corporation).

From the history till present HTC is introducing innovative products on each step. In year 2010 HTC introduces Evo 4G, it is the first 4G capable phone in United States. HTC is also selling their products in China under their own brand name by doing partnership with China Mobile. In 2010, HTC sold more than 24.6 million handsets. In year 2011, HTC was named as “Device Manufacturer of the Year” by GSMA in the Mobile World Congress. In 2011, only HTC left behind the Nokia and took its position in the world of becoming third largest Smartphone Company. Now HTC is only behind Apple and Samsung (HTC Corporation).

In 2011 HTC announced that they will buy VIA technologies stake in S3 Graphics and will become the major owner of S3. In the second half, year of 2011 HTC acquired Dashwire in 18.5 million Dollars. HTC also announced that they are going to do strategic partnership with Beats Electronics by acquiring more than 51% shares (HTC Corporation).
