Group Dynamics

Introduction

Group dynamics is a set of social facts arising from the interaction of several individuals belonging to a group. This is a rather abstract usually results in an affinity between the supporters of a group. From another point of view, it is the social science that studies the mechanism of small groups consisting of between 5 and 20 people, and the consequences of their community life.

This mechanism is mainly based on the behavior of behavior that can easily change depending on the state and the sense of this individual to the group. The attitude of each can also be transformed as and as members of his group's influence. Each member can behave, think or believe in the influence of his group. It may be noted the sense of belonging to a movement or a clan, collective desire to achieve a common goal, the regulation of some formal or informal standards of conduct for all members, the birth of feelings and emotional ties between group members, the collective unconscious, and the stability of the relationship of the group with the outside world. One group had to fight against an opponent outside or to compete with another group, is more united than ordinary group (Tuckman, 2005, p384). One unavoidable consequence of the dynamics of group solidarity is more or less marked that will meet later.

However, it is always accompanied by strong policies and pressures that require members to comply. In addition, a member may not make a decision on behalf of the group if it does not meet certain ethical standards, also implemented by the group itself. The process begins with a sharing of ideas between members, followed by some concrete proposals, and the formalization of the idea, with some modifications if necessary.

The benefits of group dynamics, both for the group to its external environment, but in direct contact with its members are numerous. First, it runs the group according to the wishes of the members, consciously or not. Second, many great politicians and great economic decision-makers take advantage of experiences in a group to take decisive action. Some people even improve their lives through personal experiences in a group living. Some doctors even so-called group therapy. This is a system that brings together people with the same health problem as tobacco addiction or alcohol. The exchange between these individuals will encourage those who can not free themselves of themselves and bring in the long to decide to lose their bad habit. This is a very effective because patients have the opportunity to meet people who were in the same situation before. The group members may have chosen to include this group, but may also be forced (Tuckman, 2005, p384).
