Introduction

In recent years, the word "green" has earned a place in technology companies, on the agendas of government and, of course, homes. But what exactly is green technology is discussed in this paper. The concept of green technology has evolved over time, adapting to changing technological needs of world. The concept embraces notions of cleanliness or recovery errors are corrected or treated to avoid adverse impacts on the environment (Clewell, 2005). In countries that have not suffered the ravages of industrial pollution, green technologies represent an approach based primarily in the manufacture of a commercial product, with a perspective not only economic but also environmental, social and cultural development.

Definition

Green technology, also known as clean technology is the application of environmental science that helps to preserve the natural environment and its resources, and minimize the negative impacts humans have on this. Technology by itself refers to the application of knowledge to create goods or services that facilitate and meet the needs of people (Crawford, 2003).

Green Technology is an important driver to accelerate the national economy and promote sustainable development across the universe.

Green technologies are closely related to sustainable development. Some of these technologies are used for recycling, water purification and air, gas treatment, the solid waste management and renewable energy. During the last decades has been installed to recycle more and more in the minds of the people making it a global phenomenon that is increasing. Recycling is one of the core activities of green technology concept, which encourages people to reuse things that can be as paper, cardboard, cans, among others. Water is an essential resource for survival. Covers 71% of land area, 97% is salt water, 3% is freshwater and only 1% is in liquid state (Solangie, 2011). Therefore it is extremely important to raise awareness on water care to ensure that lasts into the future, trying to reduce consumption and building water treatment facilities. Using this green technology can recover the bulk water consumption decreasing; other existing technology related to this is to convert salt water to fresh.

Today renewable energy have become very important, this is because they can be reused, as well as non-polluting and carbon emissions are sent into the atmosphere are decreasing. This type of energy can be produced naturally by natural objects such as wood, solar, wind and biogas and others. Another kind of green technology is used for kitchen use and food disposers to reduce the accumulation of waste, reduce emissions of greenhouse gases and to convert food waste into biogas for these in turn generate electricity.

Sensors are also considered green technology because they are devices which can measure physical quantities and transform them into electrical signals. There may be sensors, temperature, and lighting, among others. Therefore, these sensors are considered and intelligent systems that control a myriad of things in a hotel room and in turn are environmentally friendly as it turns out the lights and televisions when they are left turned on ...
