Practices of Green Management in Centara Hotels and Resorts



Abstract

The study is based on the concept of green management in contrast with the practices implemented in the Centara Hotels and Resorts. The initial part of the research is based on the introduction of the research, along with the core objectives that need to be catered for the research. The next phase of the research is based on the literature review, which reflects enormous information related to the concept of green management with the components of green building, green waste, and green energy. These variables have been taken in contrast with the hotel management industry, specifically the Centara Hotels and Resorts. The third chapter of the research consists of the methodology by which the research was conducted, which was mainly based on the research instruments.

The research instruments in this study were the questionnaire and interview. These were conducted from the employees and customers of the Centara Hotels and Resorts. The fourth chapter of the research has focused on highlighting the data analysis extracted from the questionnaire and interviews conducted from the research participants. The last phase of the research is the concluding part, which contains the aspects gathered from the research in contrast to the green management practices in the Centara Hotels and Resorts. The conclusion part of the research has presented a compiled form of the overall research findings or interpretation. This part has also been extended with the recommendations from the researcher's point of view, which could also lead to the future research on this topic. The green management practices have been implemented in the Centara Hotels and Resorts, but need to meet up more global standards.

5. Conclusion and Recommendations

The study is based around the concept of green management with green energy, green building, and green waste being the core areas of discussion. These variables of green management have been discussed in the study in contrast with the Centara Hotels and Resorts Group. The research was conducted in order to find out how well is the organization dealing with the concept of green management. Thus chapter is aimed to present the interpretation of the data analysis and the research findings conducted by the researcher. The literature review in the research has provided with enough insights related to the topic of investigation. This chapter will be based on the findings of the research, which was conducted by the research instruments. The research findings were based on the data conducted from the research instruments in the study, which were the questionnaire and interview method. The findings were compared from the aspect of both the literature studies and the core findings conducted for the research.
