The purpose of this study was to gain an insight of the environmental impact of freight transportation companies. The main research questions of this research were based on the motivations of freight transportation companies to overcome environmental impact and the steps taken by them. The companies that were discussed in this research include Waitrose, British Airways, and Hellmann Logistics. Green supply chain management and green logistics are emerging trends in the field of supply chain management. Customers have become aware of the environmental impact of different businesses. Therefore, it is important for freight transportation companies to devise and implement policies to overcome environmental impact. The increasing pressure from customers, government, and other stakeholders have urged freight transportation companies to take necessary steps in order to overcome the environmental impact of their activities. In addition, the studies have revealed that freight transportation companies are major contributors of environmental pollution in terms of the emission of CO2. Therefore, it is important for these companies to adopt different ways for overcoming the climate change impact. The other reason that has made it imperative for businesses to take necessary steps for environmental protection is cost. The research has found that there is an important link between CO2 and the cost. As the secondary analysis suggests, in order achieving economies of scale, companies are required to take steps that are profitable for both suppliers and retailers. It requires a long-term collaboration between suppliers and retail chains. The emission of CO2 and noise from transportation has increased the healthcare
