Being Green is in

It used to be that when a company was an expert in a certain field, gave quality customer service and gave a high product service, it was enough to attract hordes of customers. However, nowadays, corporations are turning down the message that they are hungry for profits. Instead, they are communicating the message that they are environmentally friendly. Indirectly, they are saying that not only are they environmentally friendly but that they are an ally of the environment and that these corporations are ready to write these off as tax incentives and allows the implementation of green management everywhere (Makower, J., 2009).

The following statistics suggest that more people are going to support green companies that those who do not explicitly say they are doing anything for the environment. Almost 80% of American consumers would recommend a company's products and services to others if they see that the company broadcasts its environmental practices. In a study by Accenture, from all around the world, almost 65% of consumers are ready to pay more for products and services that emit lesser gas. TXN has conducted a worldwide survey on consumers from seventeen countries across five continents has concluded that almost 95% of Thai respondents and almost 85% of Brazilians are ready to pay higher price for environmental friendliness. In 2009, consumers spent around 500 billion USD yearly or roughly 43 billion USD every month on green products and services (Makower, J., 2009).

It is an important element for commercial building and internal infrastructure projects to become green. New building guidelines are now being imposed by governments worldwide and these guidelines keep on evolving at a quick rate. , resulting in the involvement of many entities that establish standards and certify that these guidelines have been met. For this study, green is considered to be the design of building and internal designs are established with minimum negative impact to the surrounding and having the importance on preservation of resources, and have to be energy efficient. Furthermore, the green term can also be considered as the design of the building or place in a most sensitive manner of the surrounding that has lesser harm to the environment (Levin, 2008).

Definition of Green Management and the Bottom Line

Green management, for this study, is defined as the organizations are effective and functioning according to the surrounding by being more watchful. The focus are on the components of the corporate that is managing by the green management and not by the personnel in the company and the three components here are green building, green energy and green waste (Tran, B. 2009).

It matters for the green management because of the supposedly triple bottom line. The phenomenon of triple bottom line includes healthy societal figures, positive economic effect, and environmental benefits (Tran, B., 2009).
