At first glance, all aspects of the conduct of research seem to be governed. However, this is not really the case, since there are several legal vagaries that allow doctors tremendous freedom in which to conduct their trials. The existence of these "gray areas" of course, doctors offered the flexibility to treat patients without limiting their options for health care.
