Thesis Statement

The problem is not the guns; is the people that improperly use them. And with all the youngsters praising and itching to get a firearm in their hands? it's even more tempting and fashionable for one to show off their shooter around their friends and dangling it off in their hands.

Introduction

This question arouses brings rise to the never-ending controversy of gun control. Gun control is a matter that is continually argued over by officials? citizens? and gun owners. However? opponents of gun control believe that the right to bear arms is backed by many valid reasons.

Discussion

A well regulated militia? “being necessary to the security of a free state? the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed” (Gary 2000 pp 145-155).

These words were written by the founding fathers of this fine country and were intended to be upheld for as long as our government's existence. However? some advocates of gun control feel that the Second Amendment is referring to the people as a whole? rather than an individual. Proponents of gun control believe that the people have the right to own and bear arms only when banding together to defend our country or our rights (Roth 2004 pp 230). The framers of the Constitution were trying state that all citizens should be ready to fight for their country or rights? when necessary. The Second Amendment is not fully giving the people the right to own guns. However? it does acknowledge that it respects the unspoken law to own guns. "An individuals right to own guns existed even before the Constitution was written? and the federal government has no place interfering with that right” (Mossoff 2008 pp 89).
