The mission of Defense Department is “protect the security of our country”, I find it very inspirational it gives me a greater sense of purpose. In future, I plan to continue supporting this mission by becoming a Division Chief of Contracting. To accomplish this goal, it is necessary to remain competitive by establishing a strong educational background and well-rounded professional experience of various aspects related to contract management.

My academic background of accounting degree and professional experience has allowed me to gain analytical and auditing skills. In the past two years, I have applied those skills as a Contract Specialist. With the passage of time, my skills have enhanced and are more polished, I felt prepared to handle most contract oversight. In order to gain exposure to higher responsibilities, I needed further exposure to various subject for instance: management, strategic decision making, and global industries. At this point in time, completing an MBA will fill the gap in my current academic requirements; it will provide me capable skills to expand my worldview. Northeastern's focuses on management throughout the curriculum and the opportunity for specialized training will help me attain my goals. The core courses offered by the University such as “Managing People and Organization” and “Strategic Decision-Making in a Changing Environment” are an answer to my professional needs. Northeastern's has a blend of experiential learning methods that are akin to my learning style. I enthusiastically look forward to refining my leadership skills by applying classroom knowledge at my current position, which will only be possible by participating in Northeastern's optional residential program.

Shortly after completing MBA, I have planned to obtain a significant position progressing from Contracting Officer to Supervisory Contract Specialist, which will progress to Lead Price Analyst to Lead Procurement Officer within the next ten to fifteen years. This program is highly beneficial for my professional benchmark. I am willing to participate in assignments that provide in depth knowledge in strategic sources, contract pricing, cost estimating, source selection, and major weapons systems. I have learned to manage time and maintain good balance between my academic session and professional career. My skills have enhanced and polished while working under pressure giving me more command over team building and adopting good communication skills.
