Abstract

In this study we try to explore the concept of “effective issue management of problems due to work-like imbalance” in a holistic context. The main focus of the research is on “issue management” of the problems caused by “work-life imbalance”. The research also analyzes many aspects of “issue management” and how these issue management techniques should be implemented to resolve “problems due to work-life imbalance”. Finally the research describes various factors which are responsible for “issues due to work-life imbalance” and tries to describe the effective “issue management” techniques to solve those problems.

Introduction

Work life imbalance is a common practice seen nowadays in corporate world. Work-life imbalance is a process in which a person is preoccupied by his professional life so much that he cannot differentiate between his personal and professional life. Most of the time people are seen bring office work at home and don't have time for their family even when they are back from a hectic schedule of 8-10 hours. Nowadays due to the increasing practice of work-life imbalance different problems arise. People who are ineffectively managing their professional and personal life often end up in broken relationships and family issues, their children become victims of substance abuse, their relationships are broken, their partners ask for divorce and so on.

I have recently accepted a position as an organizational consultant at We make widgets Inc. and I am assigned a team to work with. My role at We make widgets Inc. is to provide advice to the leaders of other organizations who are struggling with the issues due to work-life imbalance. Since I have a team to manage, therefore I must adapt useful methods and strategies in order to manage my team successful because if I cannot manage my own team I cannot manage the life of others. In order to make effective team I must adapt the process of effective team management. My job description is to provide proper guidance to the leaders of the organization advice that can help them to resolve the issue cause by work-life imbalance.

Discussion

At we make widgets Inc. I met three executives Maria Visionaria, Mujibar Delhi and Wanda Sharp. Maria is the CEO of the organization, Mujibar is the COO and Wanda is the CFO. All of these individuals are facing the issues cause by work-life imbalance because in the race of life they gave priority to their career over their family and relationship. My task is to evaluate the intensity of the problem each individual is facing and provide advice accordingly.
