Abstract

For any country to develop in today's times, the interest of the nation must be put forward. A country where citizens are free to talk and move about, are sheltered, and safe from harm is the basic need that needs to be provided by the state. Half the state's issues are resolved, if the systems are well-structured, and unanimously agreed on. The basic necessities of life when provided for can result in high happy factor of individuals. The state needs to exploit resources, and create a system of income generation, social security, health, shelter and protection of the citizens. Protection of the rights of the citizens, for them to breathe without the stress of being robbed, or for that matter without being taken any disadvantage of, is the basic right of every citizen. Managing a state's crime rates depicts majorly, how the country is being run. In these times of high inflation, criminal activities are difficult to avoid, but at least the occurring can be reduced. Before being able to deal with crime, it is important to understand the reason behind it, what leads people to commit the crime.

Introduction

Good cannot be recognised if there are no bad, crimes and criminals are the words associated with the existence of mankind and since then people are putting in efforts to overcome this issue by identifying its causes. Even at present time crime exist in nearly every society however; the rate of crime may vary from country to country depending upon the social and economic condition of that country. Many researchers have focused on identifying the various reasons of crimes among people; although it has been identified that rate of crime can be minimized by stopping young people in doing crime. Several laws have been made in order to find the causes of crime as well as to stop or reduce the rate of crime (Fay, 2007, pp.84). In this connection social condition of an individual has been identified as the main stimuli, which leads a young person to commit crime. In this paper the policies formulated by different government of United Kingdom in the past 14 years would be reviewed as to assess the extent to which the policies has appropriately identified social causes of crime among young people also known as juvenile delinquency. Before reviewing and measuring the policies it is pertinent to discuss here what juvenile delinquency is and what are the social causes which stimulate juvenile delinquency or crime among young people?
