Importance of understanding Business Process Change

Organizations are continuously facing frequent changes in the current economic climate. These changes are necessary for the organization to become successful by competing. A changing marketplace, empowered workforce and technological advancements have created an environment where change is becoming 'business as usual.' In this environment, organizations are beginning to recognize the importance of building the competency rapidly. Change process model helps in providing a defined frame work and the steps which are needed to change effectively. The change management practices are used to strengthen the capacity of organizational change (Howard, 2003). Similarly, change management techniques are also used to assist the transformation process with an emphasis on strengthening the organizational flexibility and ability to respond quickly to new situations. When the organization move from one level of maturity to another, the changes taking place in the organizational processes should be at all levels. When the change is implemented it is necessary for the organization that the employees should support the business process. These changes should be according to the organizational culture. The goals of the business process should be clear and specified. The organization process should be planned and according to the requirement. It is also necessary that the organization should understand. The organization should also understand what is to be achieved. It is also necessary to communicate, involve, enable and facilitate involvement from people, as early and openly and as fully as is possible.

Formal Process Change

For any business, it is necessary that, there should be a process followed so that change can be accepted followed and accessed. There is a proper process through which change takes place. The steps, which are to, be followed in business plan should be clearly specified. They should include how change can be handled such as exceptions and unexpected events. The chronological order of the process should be mentioned in the steps and the discrepancies taking place should be corrected. The employees should be communicated well regarding the change management practice. The time scales should be, developed for the change taking place and should be, implemented in that time (Hiatt, 2010). Quality and performance should also be checked for the processes. From a business point of view, these management processes, should be, communicated to all management level of the organization. As, employee resist change so, they should be communicated about the benefits of changes and its effects on the organization. If no proper process is followed in the organization, it can lead to mismanagement. For any change to take place, it is necessary that it should be accepted by others. When change management is taking place at personnel level, the employees should be clear about their tasks and duties which they have to achieve, and they should accept any change which proves fruitful.
