Business Process Modeling is here to stay and has become increasingly important as a way for corporations to remain competitive. Process orientation, combined with contributions from IT, can yield tremendous performance improvements within companies. The focus of BPM on the "process" concept puts forth the need for consistent methods and techniques for process modeling, i.e., the capture, representation and performance assessment of business processes (Foster 2001).
