The Bio-psychological Assessment of Crystal Taylor
Abstract
The assessment of the case of Crystal Taylor suggests that materialism approach to biological perspective best fits to the client's case. The neurological signals sent by the brain directly affect the decision making of the client. However, due to drug addiction her thinking and intuitive ego-functions were impaired. The most widely used ego function of the client is feeling. She has also developed sensing with the life stage development. The client is currently in the “Love: Intimacy vs. Isolation” stage of her life. She has to take a decision that whether she wants to live alone or share her life with someone. The client was in separation distress due to the traumatic relation with her mother. The target behavior of the client is the “drug addiction”. ABC method is the best approach to collect the baseline data. The Walsh's family process suggests that the beliefs system, organizational patterns and communication mediums did not develop due to which the client was not family centered. The sociocultural factors were directly responsible for the person: environment misfit. Conclusively, the system's theory, family assessment and biological perspective were the most essential topics that helped in bio-psychological assessment of the client.

The Bio-psychological Assessment of Crystal Taylor
Introduction
In this assignment, I am going to do a bio-psychological assessment on Crystal Taylor's life mentioned in the book “Life for me ain't been no crystal stair - one family's passage through the child welfare system”. However, in order to do a comprehensive assessment of the client's life it is important to study the role of systems theory. System's theory helps to understand the complex systems that are present in one's environment (Skyttner, 2005). It helps to explore varying dynamics that are present in one's environment.
Biological Perspective
The biological researchers believe that the behavior of an individual is purely physical. Factors such as heredity, dualism, materialism and natural selection affect the decision making of an individual. However, while considering the case of Crystal Taylor, she did not make all her decisions with a sound mind. She has started using alcohol, PCP, mescaline, cocaine and marijuana when she was in middle school. The behavior of the society in relation to gender is extremely essential to understand the decision making of an individual. Therefore, we can say that the environmental factors, stress and sexual abuse have disturbed her mental decision making power (Green, 1994). Moreover, heredity may have played an important role in the transmission of decision-making characteristics; that is, from her mother to her.
Person: Environment Perspective
The case Taylor clearly depicts a mismatch in person: environment fit. Normally, the person-environment fit of people improve with the stages of life. However, Crystal's environmental fit continued to get disturbed due to intake of drugs, sexual abuse, ...
