Basic Rules of Communication

Introduction

Interpersonal communication takes place between two people who are physically close. Each person produces messages that are a response to other people's messages developed during the conversation between two or more people. Humans are included in a world of communication, and, it is divided into three parts that includes interpersonal communication, group communication, and, media's communication. The different forms of communication have different characteristics, different advantages and disadvantages, and, therefore, are useful or useless depending on the objectives of those who use them. No one uses a commercial television channel to talk with a friend. When using social media, it is very difficult to know what was the reaction or the effect of the message.

A discernible difference exists between news media, which does not allow the facilitation of dialogue and interpersonal communication. According to some authors, the principles of interpersonal communication are: "People communicate because that communication is necessary for psychological well-being. Communication is not only a human need but a means to satisfy many. Interpersonal communication skills should not be measured solely by the degree to which community behavior helps to satisfy its individual needs. It should also be measured by the degree to which people provide satisfaction to other people. Therefore, interpersonal relationships are a key issue in everybody's lives, functioning not only as a means to achieve specific objectives, but as an end in it.
