'Communication in today's workplace' is the chapter 1 of the Dwyer, Judith's book in which he briefly discusses that lack of effective communication can spell disasters for the organization. Communication plays an imminent role in business and is the basis for its success. Proper form of communication is a skill that has a great impact on any organization. The emergence of business communication tool facilitates an organization to develop and enhance its skills and performances through better and effective communication. Business Communication is an intriguing tool for the business personnel and managerial faction. It helps in achieving the business oriented goals and maintains the profitability.

Judith in this chapter explains in detail that the protocols provide a medium to exchange vital information between the personnel and bond a strong relationship between the partners and stakeholders. It is a code of conduct that enhances the business related etiquette and behaviour.
