Introduction

Information technology is used every day to support and automate the activities of a firm One can say that the importance of the training process when implementing information systems focuses on training is an essential means of education that helps people to professionalize their work to fit the era of changes and develop confidence in themselves to face these changes successfully. Computers and Information systems have evolved in their use, starting with the automation of the processes of organizations, to support the operational level by providing information as a basis for decision-making process, as well as support for higher levels, ultimately to achieve competitive advantages through their implementation and use (Moingeon, Edmondson, 1996). The same is the case with creative products that want to integrate the product management system to computerized procedure. The paper discusses the human resource planning and evaluation of creative products.

Purpose of the Training Program

Creative product currently uses a combination of manual and computerized product management system, but keeping view the cost implications and the technological changes it aims to convert the entire process to an integrated computer system. The purpose is to plan a training program to ensure that the human resource is equipped with the right knowledge about the system use.

Company Description

“Creative products” is an American electronic commerce company which is based in Middlesex, New Jersey. It offers nutritional supplements, gifts, TV products, leather apparels, computer products, small appliances, consumer electronics and more through the CProducts.com website. The company was founded by Charles Kush in 1989. It began as a mail order company that offered gifts and food supplements. Over years, creative products diversified its product lines and expanded its operations by the launch of CProducts.com in 2000. The company also owns SearchBidBuy.com.

Training Needs Assessment

According to the present life of the term business training and information systems are changing the way companies work, information systems help to accelerate processes. Training refers to the methods used to provide people within the company the skills they need to perform their work, this ranges from short courses to courses on terminology that will allow the user to understand how the new system, and either theoretical or practical basis or better yet, combining the two (Moingeon,Edmondson,1996). This is a process that leads to continuous improvement and thereby to implement new ways of working, as in this case an automated system that will be coming to streamline processes and take the company to adopt it to generate added value and contribute to continuous improvement through the implementation of systems and training to users.
