It aims to explain the strategic human resource manageement, or the new work management, and as to how it affects the performance and productivity of human resources. The paper describes the concept of new work management and its role in performance management of human resources. The factors that influence or impact the productivity and performance of human resource are also highlight in the paper. It then discusses the performance management and as to how it impacts the productivity and performance of human resources in the light of new work management. Furthermore, the paper discuses about the new work management approach and as to how it is utlized to motivate employees and at the same time ensure productivity and performance. The new work management approach is explained in detail emphasizing on its three main points including development of knowledge base, encouragment of employee involvement, commitment and empowerment, and the promotion of improved results.

Introduction
Human resource management is a dynamic field, evolving understanding of the patterns of impact of human resource management practices and systems on performance to embracing the mediating mechanisms. At the same time, researchers in this area continue to engage in exciting research in human resource performance (Wright & McHahan, 2000).
Discussion
Linkage between human resource management and human performance are based on the assumption that the management has employed superior and motivating techniques to deal with the employees, or in simple words, it has adopted the new work management concept (McKenna & Beech, 2002).
New Work Management
The term new work management, rather than being a particular department or set of policies, is a set of coherent and strategic management activities intended to make the most of the talent in an organization (McWilliams, Van Fleet & Wright, 2001). Due to the fact that information is increasing in comprehensiveness and velocity, cost efficiencies are quickly apparent and eventually copied by competitors. Although continuous attention to cost efficiencies will always be important to “remain in the game,” the only viable option for long-term growth is for the strategic management process to focus on creative ways to increase the productivity and performance of the organization (Pepitone, 2000). As such, strategic managers must work with strategic leaders to deal with the increasingly paradoxical strategic situations that demand maintaining stability while trying to change, balancing short-term goals with long-term ones, and acting to reconcile the multiple, and sometimes conflicting, interests of organizational stakeholders (Baird & Meshoulam, 2000).
