Introduction/ General Overview of the RFP

This request for proposals will invite suppliers to submit proposals for training staff to use Microsoft Office programs through a bidding process. Bidding has proven to be the finest way to find the best sellers of this type of training because it will leverages the power of the company's buying and bargaining power with sellers (Porter-Roth, 2001).

The company requesting the proposal is recognized as Allergan / Blue Shield Insurance. The company has to bring in outside trainers to train some new employees on how to use Microsoft Office Application Packages including Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access. This training will also need basic training on the efficient use of computers and software.

Purpose

This is a request for proposal (RFP) to give full training for Microsoft Project 2007, Microsoft Visio 2007 and Microsoft Power Point 2007.

To this end, we employ more than 50 percent of our work force in either research and development (R&D) or sales, ensuring our efforts are focused on innovation and our customers.

The Project is to provide training of Microsoft Office 2007 products to our staff at our headquarters in Irvine, California. The training will be expected to begin on Oct 13, 2011. The training will be completed by November 19, 2011.

Allergan Inc. will be implementing an upgrade of all PC, laptops, server based application that are currently running Microsoft Windows 2000 Office products to Microsoft Windows 2007 Office products by January 31, 2011.

Introduction to Project

The goal is to hire the best qualified company to train our employees in using Microsoft Office. We also need certified representative to assist the employees in receiving the knowledge and demonstrating on how to use the software. The project needs to be completing by Oct 1, 2011. Our budget for the cost of the software and trainees are 5000. We need your company to go over the software and directions on maneuvering your programs. Our employees need to receive a certificate of completion. There are three companies that we are interested in Comp works, IT training, and Centriq training.

Target Audience

This course mainly targets new sales agents who have scanty or no previous insurance sales knowledge. The course will be delivered through Pentium IV multimedia personal computers equipped with CD-ROMs with 512 MB of RAM.

Requirements for the Project

The project will involve training of the company's new consulting sales agents in the general use of Microsoft Office Programs. The course requirements are divided into the following units.
