Introduction

Thesis Statement: Parent's negligence and irresponsible media is the real cause of Juvenile that spoiled the youth of today. It can lead to law-breaking juvenile, which often can lead to adult lives as career criminals.

Juvenile Delinquency is a term that takes consideration regarding crimes that are committed by teenagers or children that are casually under the age of 18. Much research and debate revolves around the problem of juvenile delinquency in the US. The research is mainly focused on the causes of juvenile delinquency and which strategies have successfully diminished crime rates among the youth population. Though the causes are debated and controversial as well, much of the debate revolves around the punishment and rehabilitation of juveniles in a youth detention center or elsewhere.

Juvenile Delinquency Statistics

As per the office that takes care of the juvenile justice and delinquency prevention, the crime rate in the year 2010 has dropped down by 6% looking at the crime rate of the year 2006. It may seem like a very little percentage, but the teenagers committing crime are comparatively in a very low number as compared to the adults. The 6% of reduction in the crime rate has not been very sudden and has not dropped down over night (Eadie, T. 2003). The percentage has dropped in 5 years. The overall scenario was quite comfortable and the law and order enforcement agencies had been taking a breath of relief. But the recent statistics of 2011 show that the increase had been seen, although looking at the trend there was a decrease expected, but it didn't turn out to be the way it was expected to be. According to the law and order agencies, the number of black boys and Latinos that have committed crimes, are in a much higher number than the whites. Although a number of regulatory bodies reject this projection as they are not at all in favor of this. This figure of black and Latino teenagers is not at all projected to spread a chaos or promote stereotyping or discrimination, but this is to bring out the reality. Looking in to the facts, the most surprising aspect that has shocked the world is that out of every 3 black boys, 1 black boy is always at a risk of incarceration and 1 of every 6 Latino boys is facing the same problem. The past statistics have also shown that all those murders that took place and had involved juvenile delinquents had always had a supervision of an adult offender. Although this may not be for every crime that takes place, but it happens to be right for a majority of them. The supervision of adult offenders in juvenile delinquency was in a percentage bracket of 25-30% in the year 1990's, and the percentage has increased to about 38% in the year 2010.
